beta: chatsum

chatsum is a browser-extension allowing concurrent visitors of any website to chat with each other. chatsum is currently in private beta, accepting applications through their website.
chatsum’s user-interface is straight forward: living in a firefox-sidebar, it works like a very basic chat-app. moreover it unveils how many (chatsum-)users are viewing the same page. user-profiles with all past comments and additionally integrated content from other services (currently flickr, delici.ous, digg, youtube and last.fm) are exposed to the public (here is my profile).
currently chatsum is only available as firefox-extension, with a dashboard widget for safari coming soon. an internet explorer version should hopefully arrive when chatsum leaves beta, especially as the quality and user-experience of a social networking service like this depends on the number of clients using it.
