Charts.fm – fun with mashups…
Posted on | December 23, 2008 | 4 Comments
few weeks ago I’ve been building this charts-based mashup together with a friend of mine. since we now even managed to get some decent frontend-graphics from blackjune, I tought I might as well pitch it here before christmas…
Charts.fm is based on playlists & user-votings of more than 2600 radio-stations (mostly US, although there’s the occasional austrian station as well) provided by Yes.com. the whole idea is to let users (re)mix their own charts based on genre, radiostations, period, ranking etc… results are mashed up against Amazon AWS (Associates Web Service) & iTunes (for the Buy-links), YouTube (for the video) and Last.fm (for the artist-biographies).
there are still some issues to iron out, but you can sign up and start mixing your own charts right now. the artists-filter allows some fun versus-fights, like these charts for “Britney Spears vs. Christina Aguilera” embedded below (the embed-code isn’t yet available through the app, btw.)… have fun, and tell me what you think about the whole thing, as I’m not really sure where to go from here…

It looks sleek and modern. I even like the new selection of music.
